Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy S22 and S22+, flagship smartphones for creativity and self-expression. Originally designed using recycled materials, the new products combine aesthetics and environmental friendliness. That is why Samsung has focused on developing the latest S-series devices with revolutionary day and night camera capabilities,” said Tae Moon Ro (TM Rohm), president and head of Mobile experience at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung’s most intelligent camera to date

Galaxy S22 and S22+ are designed to enable users to communicate and share content in any environment with innovative cameras. [2] The Galaxy S22 and S22+ feature a 50MP high-resolution main camera, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens, so you’ll always get great shots.  Thanks to the use of AI and depth map, it is easy to take perfect photos in portrait mode: even the smallest details will be clearly visible thanks to a comprehensive intelligent algorithm.

Performance for every pace of life

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ can handle even the heaviest of tasks thanks to the first ever 4nm processor in the Galaxy series. Powered by state-of-the-art AI and machine learning technologies, it delivers unrivaled performance for work and streaming.

What’s more, process intelligence optimizes application performance by automatically detecting which one is being used at any given moment and directing the most power to it to make music playback, web browsing and program operation as smooth as possible.

An ultra-fast processor requires an appropriate battery. That’s why the Galaxy S22 has a durable battery[4] with 25W fast charging, while the Galaxy S22+ can last more than a day. In addition, this model received support for 45W ultra-fast charging to quickly restore battery power.

Both devices feature Dynamic AMOLED[5] 2X adaptive 120Hz panels designed for gaming and content viewing.  In addition, brightness has also been improved at the hardware level, with the S22 peaking at 1300 nits and the S22+ at 1750 nits[8].

With S22 and S22+ you can stay connected all day long. Through a partnership with Google, with Google Duo[9] Live sharing[10], you can browse photos in the Gallery with friends or share ideas with colleagues in the Samsung Notes app, even when you are far away[11].

Flawless design and durability

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ feature the recognizable Galaxy-style Contour-Cut design, with the camera seamlessly integrated into the main body of the smartphone. In order to give the new products a more elegant and sophisticated appearance, Samsung has equipped them with flat screens as well as a matte glass cover. The camera in the new S Series is color matched to the body of the device and is surrounded by a thin metal frame.

Not only do they look great, but they’re built to last: The Galaxy S22 series represents Samsung’s most reliable mobile devices. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ are the first models in the S-series to be made from heavy-duty Armor Aluminum.

In addition, to ensure that users can enjoy new smartphones for as long as possible, the entire Galaxy S22 series will support four generations of Android OS updates[13]. Thanks to this, millions of Galaxy users will be able to extend the life cycle of their smartphone without sacrificing security and performance. Going forward, Samsung will expand support for software updates across all of its products to ensure full support for the entire Galaxy ecosystem.

Galaxy S series smartphones are also easy to personalize. Samsung’s sleek and intuitive One UI lets you customize the look and widgets on your home screen, as well as icon colors, color palette, and more to suit your personal preferences.

A sustainable future with Galaxy for the Planet

As the greenest gadget in Samsung’s history, the Galaxy S22 series is the epitome of innovative mobile technology and respect for the planet.  Working with leading organizations, Samsung is turning this type of waste[14] into a durable material for the production of smartphones. It is used in the Galaxy S22 series button brackets and is made from 20% recycled plastic[15] from discarded fishing nets.

The One UI privacy bar and indicator let you see which apps have access to shared information and the camera, so you can decide whether to give permission. The novelties also received a number of new security features, including the ARM micro architecture to prevent hacker attacks on the operating system and memory.
