Amazon closes the cheapest Prime subscription plan and free trial, know what is the reason

OTT platform Amazon Prime has discontinued a month-long subscription plan of Rs 129. With this, the company has decided to discontinue the free Amazon Prime Trial Pack as well. This decision has been made to follow the new guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). RBI has ordered banks and financial institutions to implement the authentication factor for the online transaction process. The deadline for implementing it is 30 September.

The company has stated on its support page that it is discontinuing some plans because banks will not be able to process new requests for automated payments for credit or debit cards. Actually, the Rs 129 plan was automatically renewed, which will no longer be possible due to RBI regulations. This was the cheapest plan of the company. According to the company, the free trial pack has been discontinued from April 27, 2021.

Users will now get these two plans
Amazon has said that if users want to take Prime Membership, then there is an option for Prime Membership for three months or annually. At present, there are two plans for new users, in which the cost of a three-month plan is Rs 329 and the cost of a one-year plan is Rs 999. The annual plan matters a lot because if you calculate it is much cheaper than the monthly plan.

Currently most prepaid plans come with free membership of Amazon Prime and if you do not want to spend much money on Prime Membership then you can choose one of them.
