What is its history?
On 11 May 1998, under the leadership of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India conducted a nuclear test in Pokhran, Rajasthan. Five trials were conducted in Pokhran, out of which three tests were conducted on 11 May and two on 13 May. In the test conducted on May 11, three atomic bombs were detonated by recording seismic vibrations on 5.3 Richter scale and since then till today National Technology Day is being celebrated in the country.

Successful test of Trishul missile
On this day i.e. on May 11, 1998, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test-fired the Trishul missile, which is a short-range firepower missile. The Trishul missile rapidly attacks its target. Apart from this, on the day of National Technology Day, India’s first aircraft Hansa-1 took off.

In Delhi, the program is organized on today’s day i.e., National Technology Day. In this program, the President attends as the Chief Guest and honors the scientists for their achievements. But due to the Corona period this year, the program is likely to be held. The Technology Development Board announces the theme of National Technology Day every year.
