In the year 2019, income tax department made it mandatory to link Aadhaar card with PAN card and since then its deadline is being extended. Now the last date for linking PAN card to Aadhaar card has been fixed as 31 March 2021. If you have not yet linked the PAN and Aadhaar, then get it done today, because after March 31, you may have to pay a heavy fine. After this date, if you transact with PAN card, then it can be taxed up to 20%.
1000 is fine
The Government of India had earlier fixed a thousand rupees late fee for not linking Aadhaar and PAN cards. At the same time, according to the new section 234H (Finance Bill), if both these documents are not linked, a fine of up to 1000 rupees will have to be paid. This late fee will be different from the penalty imposed on holding an inactive PAN card.
Link PAN card at home with Aadhaar card
You do not need to visit e-Mitra or any shop to link PAN card to Aadhaar card. You can do this work from home also. You can link it by visiting the income tax website. Apart from this, by sending an SMS to the number issued through the department, you can also link these two documents among themselves.

If you want to link your PAN card to Aadhaar, then you have to send a message to 567678 or 561561 by typing UIDPAN <12-digit Aadhaar> <10-digit PAN> from your mobile number. After this, your PAN will get information about linking to Aadhaar.

On the home page, you will see the option of Link Aadhaar. You click on it.
After this, you will see an option to fill your PAN number, Aadhaar number and other important information.
