Worldwide, 29 thousand websites and apps including Zomato, Paytm, Amazon suddenly went down last night. All the work on all these social media platforms came to a standstill, due to which the users had to face a lot of problems. The service of all these remained closed for about 45 minutes. Right now the clear reason for this has not been revealed as to how this happened, but it is being told that this service has happened due to Akamai providing internet infrastructure.
The problem occurred at 8.55 am
Akamai Technologies has confirmed that it is facing problems. The company also said that we are actively investigating it thoroughly. According to the internet outage tracker DownDetector, this problem came to the fore around 8.55 pm on Thursday night and it reached a large level on sight.
Zomato and Paytm tweeted
Regarding this problem, Paytm made a tweet in which it wrote that due to the global outage in Akamai, some services will be down. We are trying to solve it. Apart from this, Zomato’s founder Deepinder Goyal also tweeted about this. He said that due to Akamai, our app is down and our team is constantly trying to deliver all the orders on time.
Service down in these countries
This problem of internet down was seen in many big countries of the world except India. This includes many other countries including Australia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand. In these countries too, due to internet down, many apps did not work at all. Akamai’s engineers had solved this internet down problem by around 10.20 pm.
