Vodafone Idea catches pace, achieves record 3.7 Gbps speed in 5G trial so far

Posted on

Vodafone Idea, one of the country’s top telecom companies, claimed to have recorded a high speed of 3.7 gigabits per second (GBPS) during the 5G trial yesterday. This speed is the highest speed achieved by any company in India. Vi recorded 1.5 Gbps download speed in the mid-band spectrum in Gandhinagar and Pune.

Highest speed ever achieved
Vodafone Idea has been allotted the traditional 3.5 GHz spectrum band as well as high frequency bands like 26 GHz (GHz) by the Department of Telecom (DoT) for 5G network trials. In Pune, Maharashtra, Vi has established its 5G trial in the lab set-up of Cloud Core, a new generation transport and radio access network. A statement from Vi said that in this 5G trial, the company has achieved a top speed of more than 3.7 Gbps with very low latency on the spectrum band of mmWave (millimeter wave).

‘Happy with the good results’
On the other hand, Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer, Vodafone Idea said that we are happy with the speed and latency results in the initial levels of 5G trials on the 5G spectrum band allotted by the government. He added that after establishing a strong 4G network across the country, delivering the fastest 4G speeds and a 5G-ready network, Vi is now testing the next generation 5G technology, which will help the industry and consumers in India in the future to bring the best digital Get experience.

Trial approval of 5G in these companies
The Department of Telecom had approved Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and later MTNL four months ago for 5G trials. These telecom operators have been given permission for a six-month trial with telecom gear makers Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and Si Dot. Let us tell you that Reliance Jio has claimed to bring 5G by next year.
